Worship Circle offers various ways to step into the “journey”, but our yearly small groups are at the heart of it all. It’s an experience we pray every Worship Leader will embrace.
OUR SMALL GROUPS AT A GLANCE
Small Group Duration
The Worship Circle online Small Group Journey unfolds over nine months, beginning each year around late January and concluding in September. Many groups choose to culminate their experience by attending our annual REST Retreat together, creating a meaningful opportunity to connect in person. We call our the length of your small group journey a “term”.
Small Group Structure
Each term consists of a mix of small groups, online worship leader training, reading, and community-building times of growth and learning. Once a month, your small group, along with your coach, will join online for a 2 hour session. The first hour is a session with your small group, while the second hour is a Master worship leader training session taught by one of the Worship Circle coaches.
For 1 additional hour each month all Worship Circle Members will join Todd Fields and special guests to focus on developmental aspects of your worship leadership like learning to hear from God, crafting sets, service planning, verbal communication and other aspects of worship leadership.
Size of each Small Group
Each group consists of 8 members and will be lead by one of our Worship Circle Coaches alongside 1 or 2 group leaders who are there for support and care.
Cost of the Worship Circle Small Group Journey
The cost to join a Worship Circle Small group is $399 per month. Please don’t let that number scare you, many times your church staff will cover this as part of your leadership development, or generous donors, friends or family will help you along your journey. We have fundraising help available, so please do not hesitate to apply for a small group if you are interested. We have seen God so up in unbelievable ways when it comes to funding. Here is what that price includes:
Nine online small group sessions with your Worship Circle Coach
Eighteen online large group sessions with the other Worship Circle coaches and other special guest speakers
New for 2026 will be access to the Freedom Academy at a heavily discounted rate

How to be present to God, yourself, and others!
Our 2027 small group journey is going to dive deep into Story Work and how your story impacts your song. Beyond that focus, we will also explore the follow topics: Becoming a More Present and Empathetic Leader, How to Communicate with Confidence, How to Build a Healthy Team Culture, How to Hear from God, How to Lead from a Place of Rest, How to Craft Song Sets That Engage, How to Write Songs for Your Church, How to Follow the Holy Spirit in Worship, How to Work Well with your Pastor.
Sessions will be taught by Worship Circle Coaches and special guests. In the past, we’ve been joined by Matt Redman, Kim Walker-Smith, Matt Maher, Christy Nockels, John Eldredge and more!

Worship Circle is more than a program, it’s a place for worship leaders to be known, encouraged, and reminded that they are loved and not alone.
Through intentional small groups led by seasoned worship leaders, you’ll find a safe place to step out of the constant pressure to lead, produce, and pour out, and make space for your own soul to be cared for. It’s a community where you can be honest about the joys and challenges of ministry, grow alongside others who understand the journey, and remember that who you are matters far more than what you do.
